Thanks for the info, I have a ring from Racepak and I would like to not have to take the yoke off the rear to install it.

Re: 12 bolt yoke
What did you use to grind? A sharp flat file, Dremel, or a die grinder maybe? I'm thinking I have to pretty precise to keep the collar true.

Re: 12 bolt yoke
Believe it or not an electric grinder and a fine touch. all that has to happen is the four square corners need to be rounded out equally and a lot of grind, fit, grind, fit, etc.

Re: 12 bolt yoke
Dion, your collar must have been a different width as I couldn't find a way to fit the racepac collar on my yoke without a lot of interference. Mark Williams didn't make a 12 bolt yoke with the clearance machined and woudn't make one. So I had strange machine a chromemoly yoke. Looked cool, and so did the blue print . I made a mount to bolt onto the center section webbing to mount the pickup.
But then, maybe your are just that much more accurate with a grinder than I am . |
Re: 12 bolt yoke
I have a Mark Williams yoke ( for 1350 u joints) and a 12 bolt and the collar bolted right up. I don't remember the part number, but it was an off the shelf item.

Re: 12 bolt yoke
Mike I use a computech datalogger and possibly the collar for the yoke is narrower as it didnt take much grinding to get it to fit. I now have a Mark Williams 1350 yoke and the collar just fit right up no mods neccessary. Also my job includes a lot of power tools and precision contol :)
