Re: greg stanfield
Yea, same thing Rampy found out, great driving can't overcome cubic money it takes for Pro. I doubt I could afford their valve spring budget.

Re: greg stanfield
He blew up 2 motors in March & April, he had to sit out and regroup, he is not sure when he will be back out this year. They are great folks and that is a shame, all it takes is cubic dollars.

Re: greg stanfield
Cubic bucks and a LOT of hard work to be fast.

Re: greg stanfield
Darnit,,,,best racer I ever saw.

Re: greg stanfield
I agree with Jim. Greg and family are nice people and he is one of the best drivers I ever saw. Hope they can find the funding to get back out soon.

Re: greg stanfield
I think there is more to it than money. Local rumor is he is dealing with issues similar to the ones I have. Ailing Father. If that is true I wish him and Howard the best. Life as usual stops when your Dad & Best Friend is sick.
When Howard raced at my Tyler, Tx track back in the 70's he was a hard racer and always a gentleman. He is one nice guy. Can't say much for Greg back then. He just played with his toy trucks & cars in the pit area. Grew up to be real good with the full sized cars. That is one family that has dedicated more than a lifetime to racing. |
