MoPar potential?
A person contacted me about the potential of a '96 Dodge truck with a 318 or 360. I know nothing about those engines, but I told him I would ask here. Anybody got info or opinions?

Jeff Teuton had a truck combo or two several years ago but sold them. He may have some advice.

Re: MoPar potential?
The Lovins family (John and daughter Jackie) have a pair of Dodge trucks from near Dayton Ohio. Kelly Thomas from Div 6 has a truck, I think one of Tueton's old trucks. There are a few others around that have them also.

Re: MoPar potential?
Kelley Thomas has a very fast truck.....Think it is around that year.
Most 360 have a good HP ratings-318 not so good. |
Re: MoPar potential?
Thanks for all the input!
Is there enough potential in those engines to qualify them as "dime rockets"? |
Re: MoPar potential?
Kelly Thomas truck is my old truck. he has qualified very well and won a race or two. The R/T head is legal for the truck now, and the edlebrock will be soon if not now with little or no mods. If someone wanted to be a little creative, a v10 truck would run very well. Kelly's truck is a 360. I have a lot of info on both the 360 and v10. I bet the v10 would run 1.5 under easy. Makes more torque than a diesel.

Re: MoPar potential?
The Magnum engines definitely aren't "dime rocket" engines.....while the Mopar R/T head is legal they were discontinued a while back and the Edelbrock is now available and requires a lot of cash to purchase and make ready to bolt on....
