what is the minimum amp hour battery I need to satisfactorily run a 3 amp 12volt dc motor for about 2 minutes???

At about 80% effeciency a .1 amp hour battery would be ok.

So I'm guessing one of those little bitty motorcycle batteries would work fine? Jim
