kinda looks like a engine might of let go in the lites--or at least fluids getting on the tires--Glad to hear he's gonna be OK but I'm sure he's a little sore all over in spite of the broken bones---properly constructed safety roll cage apparently did its job too

This was a result of no chutes and too hard on carbon fiber brakes...which doesn't have to be too hard at all in my understanding.

Yep carbon brakes can do that to ya

I'm not convinced that it was all carbon brake related. There was an oil down in that lane a couple of pairs before, and in the slo mo it sure looks like he has his hands full with the car wagging its tail right at or in the lights. There's also a couple of puffs of smoke from around the car at that point too, like residual dust from the cleanup. Usually a brake lockup results in an instant hard turn, and in this case it looks like a few moves back and forth before it turns left.

No, you would have to abuse the brakes to achieve that result. I ran C/A and B/A at 179 to 181 with a Haas car and Lamb CF brakes, rarely used the chute and never had an issue with the brakes.
