Seat Belt Anchor Bolt Size 1998 Camaro

Could anyone share the stock seat belt anchor bolt size for this model camaro.......I do not want to go back with a torx head stock bolt......any help out there ??? If I can get the thread size I can create a shoulder bolt that will work.

I believe its M10X1.5 I will double check that when I get back to the shop late this afternoon but if I remember correctly that is what it is.

If so, it should be high grade, maybe 12.9. In the "old days" 7/16 x20 or 1/2 x13 were used, which would cross to M12 being more likely.

In my notes I wrote down M12X1.75. But I would double check that with a bolt from the hardware store before you goto too much trouble making something. The other thing I might add is Simpson used to make a eye bolt for mounting seat belts. If you screw those in to where the original bolts go they will tighten up although the threads seem loose when you are threading them in. Then go on the back side and put a lock nut on them. The driveshaft tunnel side is easy to put the nut on. The door side you have to cut a small hole in the bottom with a hole saw in order to access it with a wrench and put the nut on. I like it this way because you can use the floor mount belts with the clips instead of the bolts. Then you dont have to take the seats out to change the belts every two years.
