yes i am ready for the new strip in Havasu. it is now supposed to be 1000 feet for the fuel cars, although i do not know if door cars are going to run that or 660 feet. the track is to be all concrete. the track is less than 600 feet elevation and that will be good. there is talk of a track here in Kingman, i will hold my breath

Re: piston pin end play?

Rod,
I assume you're going to use the original tru arc locks. On those the min would be .010 and max .030. Any tighter would try and push the locks out during piston /pin flex and looser than .030 could hammer the locks hard enough to break the eyelets off. Spiro locks are a bit more forgiving and you could reduce the above numbers by .005. The "normal" groove is cut for a hard to find (now) .052 wide lock (common now is .042). Good luck. It "may" be easier to get the grooves widened for double .042 sipro or tru arc locks. Rebco Machine in Wichita Ks can do the mod for you.

It looks like the land has been donated and Brian and crew are working the issue. I will be in Havasu on the 1st of March for the Street Races. Drop by if you get a chance.
