Colored headlights
I've always liked that on a lot of cars. I also wondered how its done, so my question is, how ?
I went further back on the search tab...... and guess what, its there. |
Re: Colored headlights
It's an old trick that dates back to the 60's, and it helped if you grew up building models cars and spray painting them.
Candy Apple Spray paint. Anybody remember the spray on window tint too? Was cool till you scratched it ........... I have red candy apple paint on my headlights and have had a number of mostly younger people ask where I bought those red headlamps. |
Re: Colored headlights
I have a friend, Darin, who can paint the colored headlights. I have set of red, and he finished up some new yellow ones for my Barracuda. Anyone who is interested can reach him at 763-263-5030. Tell him Dyno told you to call. The new ones he clears and look great!

Re: Colored headlights
Go to your local hobby store in the model section and Testors brand paints have transparent colors in blue, red, yellow ect. Each coat makes them darker. Back in the early 80's I went to the AHRA race at Dragway 42 and the tech guys made me remove the tint on my headlamps. "Our stockers aren't allowed to run with tinted headlights, get it off." Had to use brake fluid and a razor blade to get it off.
Later on found a cover that slid on over the headlamp made out of plastic called Foggies. Mine were a transparent yellow color.I still have them. Jeff Ross |
