San Antonio Nitro Jam April 5-7

Found out their having just 1 round of qualifying on friday for sportsman classes. Their reasoning is you get to run in front of the fans before the Nitro jam starts. Why not start earlier in the day and get 2 qualifying runs in for the sportsman? Im a supporter of IHRA but I don't care for this. Hope to see some Super Stockers there. Turnout has always been poor in San Antonio for SS.

I think there schedule sucks 1 q sometime fri nite/ 1 q sat then race. But they have time for a test and tune for 35.00 for 3 hrs?. Seem like they could give the sportman racer 1 more and do away with the test and tune.I feel like it about the money for them. Then act like the sportsman racer has a pro budget. Jim Hanig

I'll be there running in no-box. S/SS can run in no-box too. :) I'd like to see a good turnout. Sunday is another race, two races one weekend.

Guys, this is not NHRA! Talk to Frank. I am sure he is open to any suggestions. I am sure he would consider giving one time trial Friday night as scheduled and giving two on Saturday. IHRA does listen to their customers you just have to speak up.

Good luck out there Jeff, and I hope the turnout is as good for this race as it was for last years N.J. race...I also hope it'll be far better than last years S.S.S. race was in May...:(

p.s. Hey Jeff, say hi to the rest of the WWS group for me will ya?...that's "We Want Steak" for the rest of you reading this! I miss hanging out with you guys at Pueblo Motorsports Park, but I don't miss Denver's weather!!!

you are complaining about $35 REALLY? nhra charges $75 for test n tune and if your lucky you might get 2, I like it myself, some people need 1 run, some need 5, at least it looks like we have a choice, we are still getting a total of 2 runs before Saturday eliminations,......just my .02 cents............

You can run 2 races and the test & tune for $310. I don't see where anyone needs a pro budget for that.

Iam wondering if your going to tow there, then pay the 310 for the 2 time trails then race?. Jim Hanig

The answer is no, my car is not finished yet. If it were ready, who knows I made the 830 mile tow to Memphis last year so I wouldn't see what the big deal would be about towing from where you are to San Antonio. The $35 will get you atleast 1 time shot in test & tune maybe 2. Then you get 3 qualifying runs for your $270 entry fee for 2 races and miss only 1 day of work. As stated before, you could always contact your division director, it could possibly be something that could be changed in the future. Good luck
