LIVE from Norwalk LODRS

Getting some testing in at Norwalk today, running their regular Summit ET Series. For the third straight week, the batometer has tumbled, settling in at 28.88 along with chilled overcast conditions. Temp is struggling to maintain 50 degrees. There may be some stray sprinkles tonight, and the asphalt pits still have some wet areas from overnight precipitation, but the track is dead-on. Locals report that they upgraded to fiber optic for the timing system two weeks ago, and the rollout matched expectations: right there with Indy. .022 off the trailer, and ran a little more than a hundredth slower than Indy last week, without the benefit of the tailwind. Still blowing but mainly cross. I did see a white late model Mustang here with SS/CM on the window.

Last time I was here, the pit side wasn't paved, if that dates me a bit. Place looks great.

Rain finally caught up with us about 9pm. Got two time shots and first round in. I was first pair out in eliminations, and the track was perfect again.

$100 test and tune is too rich for my blood. I learned what I needed to learn today. Got plenty of work to do this week, so will probably roll in Friday morning if I can help it, late Thursday best case.

Still got polka music.
Still got cheap dinner (1# for $1!) ;-)

I did see a couple Stockers here today as well, 'regulars' Roy Dean (R/SA) and Larry Stroscher (J/SA).

See y'all next week!

No, it wasn't Venice. Young kid in a stick car that was just recently licensing, I heard.

When I left, they were actually talking about waiting it out and drying the track. Had to get home, though, and as it turns out, they didn't get anything else in. Don't know if I'll get my split of the purse, but had a good test session regardless. Time to hit the rack!

I can also say the track was extremely killer as I was next to Michael in that first pair out and Kurt Johnson has done a great job in turning this track around as far as track prep is concerned compared to the last few years and yes it was deffinately a SS/CM you could just hear that car and tell it was a SS/Modified entry! I will be at Norwalk this upcoming weekend as a pro class racer spectator for hopefully Friday,Saturday,Sunday and hope to see everybody there!!!

Never did find out where they were pitted, and they were behind me in the lanes so I didn't catch any of their runs. Hopefully they'll be there again this week.

It was nice seeing you Michael. They only got one round of SP and Pro in. And next week, you should be able to pick up your split at customer service. We'll be spectating. See you next week. Dave

What Dave said. They should have the list at Customers Service in the Quarter Mile Clothing Company building. Unlike some tracks, there's no time limit I know of for collecting money you've won.
