Live from Route 66 Division 3 points meet
Well we had a pretty uneventful ride from home to here. The wait in line was about an hour long to pay and get a pit spot. As we left the track there was no line to get in and only about a third of the pits were occupied. The weather prediction for Friday and Saturday looks pretty good but Sunday could pose some problems. We will post more tomorrow after the first round of qualifying. I have something to try and I hope it proves to be worth the time and money.
According to the schedule posted on the Division 3 web site they will complete the Comp, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster tomorrow and fit everything else around that. It will be a long day. http://www.nhradiv3.com/apcm/templat...5171&zoneid=18 |
Re: Live from Route 66 Division 3 points meet
We made our first qualifying pass at about ten o'clock this morning. The temp was 67 dry bulb and the altimeter read 580 feet. I have not figured the corrected number yet but my guess is about 1500 feet on my system.
When I went through tech yesterday Travis and got into a conversation that ended up with the AHFS being the topic. He had what I thought to be a brilliant idea. He wants to add a clause to the system that would allow the technical department to adjust the horsepower on any car that received two automatic hits in one season to a HP that was considered more realistic. I think this is a great idea and we should all contact our sportsman rep to have this written into the system. It seems more tah fair to me. |

Thanks for the report Mike...always helps me to put a face and car with a name and apologize if your car currently looks a bit different now.

Re: Live from Route 66 Division 3 points meet
Stock competed two rounds today and when we rolled into staging they told us they intended to run a third round but that changed after some oil downs and they informed us over the PA system about 8:25.
First round was rather unusual in the fact that it seemed everyone had trouble getting the dal in correct. Some were as much as 7-8 hundredth's to quick while others were 4-5 slow. I got through with a 3 over thanks to Tim Lowes red light. Corrected altitude was hovering around 1900 feet on my system during our rounds. Humidity was comfortably low so the day was for the most part pleasant. The weather forecast for tomorrow is thunderstorm's in the afternoon. Hope most of this race is completed by that time. Super Stock had just completed round one as we rolled out of the track and they have another round scheduled for later tonight. There is a 11:00 PM curfew and the NHRA official's were planning on running until that time. Check DRC for results from the late rounds they plan to run tonight. |
