Fuel Presure

How much fuel pressure does a thermoquad require?
Also I've always used regular Autolite spark plugs in my engines. Anything to be gained switching to race plugs? Engine is 1980 318/155hp combination.

8 to 10 lbs.

Accell 114 or 116 work well in the Small Chryslers. Last a long time. Jim

Randy
What size and type of needles and seats?
Stock needles and seats 086 out of a generic rebuilders
kit..........................6 1/2 to 7 is about all we can get to hold.
consistantly with floats about 1.0 inch
We never have a problem losing pressure on our 318 even
with just a Holley blue pump
Thermoquads have Big Float Bowls!
I think I already gave you my Plug rec. in PM

Jim
10 PSI?
Do you have some special mods for floats?
Our cars idling would have and engine full of gas in
about 30 Secs.

YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY.......Only my .02 worth!

Re: Fuel Presure

Jim thanks for the reply. John I,m using the .0935" needle and seats from my strip kit. I checked pm's and we didn't discuss plugs. The car ran a tenth under once the thermoquad was installed. Changed to platinum plugs and slowed down, thus my question about plug choice. On last pass noticed fuel pressure was @ 4psi running down track. Will check over fuel system before next outing.
Thanks

Re: Fuel Presure

I like the 110 set from the strip kit..... although it is even
more fussy on pressure more like 6 1/2.

Simple Plug to find Champion is RN9YC from most any auto parts,
If resistor worries you (it shouldn't) use N9Y New Champion #300.
Gap about 40 with MSD 6.

Absolutely Best Plug for us was #279 Chanpion racing.....Currently
Unavailable maybe forever.
