Ford 352?

I was looking at the entry list for SS @ Indy and saw Walter Sullivan's GT/FA entry with a 352, Nick Morris has ran this same combination there in GT/FA in (I think) 2011. I don't know a lot about the ford modular engines but I think they are 280ish and 330ish cubic inch. Could they be running the 5.8 (351?) engine that was in trucks in the 90's? If memory serves me well the engine in Nicks car was injected and not the 352 FE block and it was a very stout piece. Thanks in advance for any replies. Don Jackson

It is probably the 352 CID pushrod crate engine that is allowed in the Cobra Jet cars.
The engine is based on the Boss 302 engine block and the engine assembly has part number M-6007-CJ352.
Although the engine is not available complete as a crate engine anymore, Ford provides the parts list to build your own.

Its a 302 push rod engine bored and stroked to a 352. It was offered in the 2010 Cobra Jet Mustangs. Nick's car is indeed a 352 injected CJ engine. I'm not sure about Sullivan's combo, it could be the CJ or the FE. I will be sure to stop buy and see what combo he is running.

Re: Ford 352?

The 352 small block made from a 302 is nothing new. Ford street racers have had a stroked 302 for years.........it was called the 347. Ford just bored the block a little more and sold it as the all new 352.

Amazing how you can take an old idea and market it as new.

Re: Ford 352?

Thanks Ken: I found the 352 in the NHRA spec's. (2010 Cobra Jet) Looks like they made a good choice too. 352c.i., EFI, 3.40 stroke, 11.25cr, 56cc chambers, flat pistons, .005AB deck, 2085/1605 valves, 285hp/NHRA factored 289 in an auto. The NHRA blueprint says throttle bore (4@ 1.75)?? I assume that must be an EFI that looks like a 4 bbl. carburetor?? If the 1.75 is inches of the bore, that is 44.45mm x 4=177.8mm?? Help me out here Ford guys lol, I'm familiar with the Chevy LT-1(48mm x 2 throttle body) If my logic is sound this Blue Oval should be a rocket! I saw online where Nick Morris ran .995 under at Bowling Green! It ain't no slouch. Nick loaded my brother at Indy in 2011 for class, I got to talk to them in the staging lanes, Nick, his family, and his car are a class act. Don Jackson
