if you are asking if a gen1 SBC will bolt into the factory motor mount the answer is no. You will need to install a motor plate or buy an aftermarket k-member that uses the SBC mounts. FYI an aftermarket front suspension is illegal in class racing.

Re: Gm f body engine cradle

There are some places that manufacture solid mounts that go from Lt1 cradle to LS1 or LS1 to LS1 or LT1 or LS1 to SBC. To my knowledge, there are no places that make motor mounts that go from V6 cradle to anything else. If you are NOT running stock or super stock, you may want to consider buying an aftermarket tubular cradle. BMR has some nice pieces, that save weight and gives you more room to work.

I think FJ Smith can make his mounts about any way you want them. ( IE V6 cradle to LT1, V6 cradle to Small Block, V8 cradle to small block ect.) Might give him a call if its for a race car. Also if you are in the midwest there are plenty of places around here that you can get a V8 cradle if you would rather go that way I might be able to help you track one down.

You can't go wrong with FJ's mounts. The fit is great in my Firebird.

How do the fj mounts work? On my stock k-member my brackets are cut off. Can I weld these on to get rid of the motor plate??

They bolt on using the holes where the stock mounts bolt to the K Member. They are a very nice product.
