Autolite AR3932 spark plug

Anyone using these plugs? What is the best procedure, and tools to gap these things?
The ground strap is so heavy it bends my ground strap adjuster... And the ground strap does not pass over the electrode so using a flat feeler gauge is next to impossible......

You are going to essentially end up making a side gap plug out of it----cut the ground wire off a little at a time by hand with a hack saw until you come close to your desired gap then file off the burrs on the wire to achive your final desired gap make sure you end up with a ground wire that is flat on all 4 sides otherwise it will throw off your plug gap--- try it with a junk plug so you can get good at it-- V-8 engine probably take you about an hour first time to do a set ---just do one plug the whole process at a time don't try to do part of the process ie. cut all 8 then go back and file all 8 etc.--ONE WORD OF ADVICE ---PUT THE PLUG IN A VISE WHILE YOU ARE CUTTING AND FILING---much easier to hold and the results will be much better

when you have finished the electrode will be pointing straight out and the ground wire will be arched slightly towards the wire and you measure the gap sorta of on a diagonal vertical plane instead of on a horizontal plane as you would normally do

index THIS plug same as you would a "normal" plug ----sounds kinda hokey but it does work--FED387

forgot to mention you will now be setting your gap with a feeler gauge not the plug gapper---after you run yor engine compare the new plugs to the old plugs you might hafta change/modify your tune up slightly---richer or leaner/ timing more or less see what works best for your situation

Re: Autolite AR3932 spark plug

All Autolite AR plugs have cut back ground straps, get yourself a good heavy duty plug gapper with the wire gauge to set your gap. Some AR 3932's had what are called wide strap which were used in Nascar and all Champion CX's @ HCX's have them also. Most nitrous guys like the AR3932 wiide strap.
