1986 T-Bird power train option/classes for stocker
Racers,
what classes and what power train would fit for a 1986 T-Bird in stock? Does it hold any potential? GT combinations? Crate Motor combinations? In D 4 IHRA race options for class racing are limited so Crate Motor is most likely not a good choice. It would be most practical for a combination that runs both IHRA & NHRA. Let me have your thoughts. |

Len Schneider has a car close to that year in SS. Don't know the combo though.
http://www.autoimagery.com/gallery/v...00066.JPG.html For stock the 3.8L(V/S), 5.0 (O/S) & 2.3l turbo (Q/S) or P with an auto.I've never heard of the 3.8 being tried, the 5.0 has that stupid throttle body but an H/R cam but it seems the turbo cars always show promise. My .02. |

OK, maybe I am blind but I don't see the 85-88 T bird listed except the 2.3 turbo in the classification guide?
I found a low mile 88 with a 302 and wanted to see where it fit |

1988 2 dr. Coupe would be a natural "N". 2 dr. Sport or LX a natural "O". Port injected, better. The 5.0 motor looks just like the Mustang deal for the same year.

I just looked and the 1988 T bird was in the listing. Look again.
