Ford turbo

Has there been any success with 1988 turbo coupe kit?

Re: Ford turbo

What'd be really cool is the new V6 ecoboost in your mustang!!

Re: Ford turbo

Sent emails on 4 cyl ecoboost, but kinda waiting to see what comes up w/SEMA, and PRI. Never know what announcements will be made.

Re: Ford turbo

4 cylinder ecoboost would be cool.

You could run the 6 cylinder ecoboost in SS/DX and not have to worry about getting the engine submitted to NHRA.

That would be CRAZY fast with all the things you could do in "modified" SS.

Re: Ford turbo

Why the v6 and not the 4? This will also be a GT deal

Re: Ford turbo

Yeah, the GT deal would be totally different. I just figured you couldn't get the car anywhere near minimum weight in DX with a 4 cylinder, so you might as well put as many cubic inches, and turbo's in there as you can. :)

Re: Ford turbo

Ken Robinson on the board here has a 1987 Turbo Coupe T-Bird that runs in Stock. ( same as the '88 TC)

I wasn't aware someone could run a 4 cyl. turbo combo in the SS/GT classes. I thought the GT cars were V-8's only.
At least that is the way I interprupt the rule book. ( the bold type highlighted below)

Copy and paste from the 2013 rulebook:

Guess I'll have to work on my 352 kit harder.

ken robinson 10-26-2013 11:50 AM

Re: Ford turbo

Could you pull the 2.3 turbo out . And drop a 352 coyote motor in it and would it be a legal GT/?? car .....??? Other wise its still not a bad R or Q stocker as long as you don't mind being chased .....lol....
