Front Springs on GT style car
Looking for some comparisions...I have a Pontiac Grand Am, super stock style car..
I believe its a FJ Smith or similar front conversion, with an unknown brand strut on it... Right now its got 200# springs on it and its so stiff its got no travel at rest, you literally can stand on the front end and jump up and down and it doesnt move.. So just looking to see what rate others are using.. Small block car, aluminum head, glide... thanks |
Re: Front Springs on GT style car
Dave,
I typically use 125 or 150 spring rate on the front of my GT conversions. If Fred built the car, he probably used Strange struts. He, along with Strange developed them. I have used some Art Morrison's and Anthony Jones early on. How much travel do they have? Ernie Neal SS 354 |
Re: Front Springs on GT style car
Ernie, they have about 5.5 inches of travel..
Do you use any specific height springs ?? 12, 14, 16... Thanks for the info... |
