fuel pressure gauge

I need to replace my fuel pressure gauges. I have one mounted on the regulator and one on the cowl. The one on the cowl is not reading correctly and the one on the regulator is a cheapo one and the needle bounces around so much you cant get a good read on it. Any one have a good recommendation? what about the ones with an isolator? I still want one on the cowl and one on the reg under the hood.

Thanks,

Re: fuel pressure gauge

If the gauge on the cowl is liquid filled, there should be a screw somewhere around the top of the gauge. Loosen that screw and let it sit for a few minutes and that should equalize the pressure from the inside of the gauge to the outside. It has to do with temperature and barometric pressure. Derek

Not oil filled. Just real old. Its been on the car since I built it 37 years ago.

we have old Autometer probably even older on my Mustang AND OLD OIL FILLED LITTLE HOLLEY ON THE REGULATOR, BOTH WORK AS GOOD AS NEW I should have some of each in stock I replaced a even older chrome Sun that failed with the AUTOMETER, a eon ago and Tom Jenkins gave us the little Holley ones for all 3 cars when he was with Holley they were so failproof we started to sell them

Why do you want one on the reg. and the cowl? They never match and only confuse you. I say put one on the cowl (if it's a race car) and use it....
PS: and forget about a liquid filled, in the under hood heat. I could never get one to read right in that environment...
