We had -976 on Friday morning at 8a 30.10 baro 43 degrees

But I am sure many on here will say I am wrong

Especially those who were not there - LMAO

That is real close to what I saw on my weather station Friday morning. The humidity was real high though up in the 70+ range so it was not as fast as you might think. I was quicker on Thursday but that might just be my tune up.

Most weather stations turn humidity into corrections for altitude. Andy's dad & Mike did you use a weather station and incorporate humidity? Big mistake if everyone doesnt. I ran at Indy one year and it was 100% humidity. My car having gotten real numbers on intake CCS on a big engine slowed down 2 1/2 tenths from Joliet the weekend before.

Thursday first round qualifying we had a slight head wind
second round a slight tail wind. This was my quickest run of the event
class round 1 was back to a slight head wind

Friday morning the wind was calm

Yes I use a perform air weather station. My car reacts to humidity and barometer. I do have a difficult time with wild swings in either. I did not have any real good data for the conditions that we had at the gators

I was the second pair out at 8:20 AM. My whole roof was solid white with ice, all sides and rear windows had ice, couldn't put a dial on the car as it just turned into a blob of white. Dial only on windshield. Following are the numbers I got from my sling psychrometer about 5 minutes before launch.

Wet temp 37 degrees Dry temp 39 degrees Dew Point 34 Humidity 83%
Wind none barometer 30.20 Density Altitude -1374 ft. Relative Horse Power 106.9%
Air density .0796 Absolute Air Pressure 30.02 Vapor Pressure .1955

At about the 1,000 ft mark people saw a large flame come from out the back of the car. Turned out to be the ice from the roof had blown off and reflected off of the sun light looking straight at you going down the track. Casey Miles was the next pair out and said he was spinning at the 1,000 ft mark, think he was fibbing though.

Two years in a row with ice on the car for the first round, just doesn't get much better than that if you like cold weather. Maybe someone out there will take pity on me and get me an enclosed trailer, but then I do like open trailers.

No our car was being used in filming of an upcoming Top Gear USA episode - Had to let a host drive and he was not well trained

Driving a super gas air shifted non-wheelstanding car in school does not come close to a really fast Super Stock but it survived
