Any one switch from Hoosier standard radial to lightweight?

Has anyone back to backed standard weight drag radials with the lightweight versions?

Not sure if the standard weight tire is the same tire with more rubber or not. Although the standard is listed as a C07 compound and lightweight as a C06.

Can you run more tire pressure in one over the other?

Thanks

Eric

I backed-to-backed them a couple of years back and the lightweights may be .01, .02 quicker at best. I've run about 6-8 lbs. more pressure than I ran in the regulars with success. As they say, you're results may vary.

I know they dont last as long thats for sure. Ordered a set by accident...very dissapointed. Burnout procedure is way different if you want them to last. Didnt have them long enought to see a difference....LOL.

We switched from 18212 to 18209 in 2008, after about 80 passes on the 18212's. Just ran 2 seasons [214 passes] on the second set of 18209's, and 60's were the best & most consistent we've seen right to the end of last season...once we learned how to do a "proper" burnout! I.E. - only clean them till they start to haze, not try to set them on fire!!

From what I was told, they are the same tire. Only difference is they make the CO6 lighter by taking material (rubber) off the side wall..... I have done back to back CO6 to CO7.. got the same 60' times the CO7's lasted about 25 passes longer before I started losing 60' times
