CLASS RACER FORUM - New Stocker???

Back in the late 60's and early 70's, one of our buddies had a Rebel Machine exactly like the one pictured. It was red,white and blue, had a 390 and a 4 speed, and he had it a few years. Someone else in town had a Hurst Scrambler, same thing but in a Rambler American. Another buddy of ours had a 390 4 speed AMX. He and I took that car to the High Sierras camping in the summer of '74, man, it really ran on the open road. He had the heads off it once for a valve job and new seals,I helped him put it together, and it seemed the AMC family of V8 engines were pretty good. After about '66 or '67, that company obviously got their act together pretty well, but being fourth behind the big 3 didn't save them from the disastrous decade that was to follow.
