Cylinder sleeves

Is it worthwhile to put 2 sleeves in a sbc 350 that's bored .030. in # 7 and #8 cylinders?......and can anyone give me an estimate on what it'd cost to have it done right , if its worthwhile...

Re: Cylinder sleeves

It depends upon how much other work has been done on the block.

The cost of a sleeve and installation varies widely.

I use special sleeves made like diesel sleeves, the sleeves themselves are around $100 each, but they're made of superior material, and have a flange on top, they won't move. Then there is the cost of installation. As much as $100 per sleeve.

Some people install inexpensive sleeves, and get $125 or so each for the sleeve and installation.

You'd have to hone #5 and #6 back round, sleeving the block will push them out of round.
