I found in the rule updates. They took out the word "lateral".

Is it really necessary to say "lateral" when referring to gas porting pistons? You wouldn't port a piston vertically, would you? Sounds like they just cleaned up their English. Nothing better to do.

I have plenty of engines with vertical gas ports. Building one now.

Vertical gas ports have been around forever. We just could not use them until now.
Standard deal in Comp & Pro Stock.

They may have found their way in some stocker engines in the sixties and seventies.
