Parking a Car Trailer
Wanted to get ideas maybe where to store a Car Trailer when NOT in use.
I live in a HOA. Wanted to get an idea from those that cannot store their Trailers at home. What you did? Collect some ideas others have solved. I am having a problem finding anything and reasonable. Dan |
Re: Parking a Car Trailer
You should be able to find a place that also stores RVs. Most have covered and uncovered parking available.

Re: Parking a Car Trailer
many of the lock up storage facilities have provisions for RV's/motorhomes- camper trailers/snowmobiles etc. and workmen to store trucks and trailers-around my area $50-$75 p/mo depending on length

Re: Parking a Car Trailer
We keep our RV and Corvette Dan in a 14' x 50' storage unit near the house. They also have covered units which are 10' x 30' for $55 a month and that is where we keep the trailer. It's probably not necessary but I keep a tarp over it just to keep the birds from messing it up as well as the pollen, etc.
What did you buy? Scott |
Re: Parking a Car Trailer
I had my 3+ car attached garage expanded to a ten car garage/race car shop. The architect did a great job. The house just looks longer, the long driveway shorter. I pull my Suburban & 24' enclosed trailer in, and still have my engine assembly area in front of that. Had to have the HOA approve it.
I pay $100.00 a month to have my motor home stored inside at an RV dealer about ten miles away. |
Re: Parking a Car Trailer
Wow!
You guys are getting one heck of a deal to store your stuff. I store my 36' gooseneck at a gated storage facility--outside and uncovered--for $175 a month here in New Jersey. |
Re: Parking a Car Trailer
Here in Colorado, my house is part of a HOA, it runs $35 to $80 depending on
the length of the trailer or MH. I'm looking at about $75 a month for the size of MH I want to buy. And rates do vary by area and if covered or open. |
Re: Parking a Car Trailer
Have not purchased a trailer yet.
Need to get a light one that is strong. Found a few steel Trailers at 1400# that are well constructed. One used aluminum for about $3500 which is 1300lbs. Renting a trailer form U-Haul is a good idea but these units are heavy. Some in questionable condition. Found a place near by at $110/month. Farther away a bit of a hassle to get to about $90/mo. Wish we could add to the house but that is a no-no..! RV places are 60 minutes away. Live in Germantown MD. Montgomery County and land is getting expensive.. D |
Re: Parking a Car Trailer
Just to give you an idea as you look our 14' x 50' holds our RV and Corvette and is $160 a month. Concrete floor, all concrete drive in with plenty of room to manuever, locked gate, cameras, good lighting, 24-hour access with a code, and electricity inside the unit. We're fortunate as it's about 2 minutes from the house. Putting the Corvette in there allows us to put my wife's car and my truck in the garage at the house. The covered 10' x 30' for the trailer is on gravel but it's right off the concrete and is right next to the other one and is $55 a month.
