"Live"from the New England Nationals
Arrived tues pm and got moved in around 1 today, Redman is in the house doing his usual great job of getting us all situated. Weather is fantastic and so is the forecast, it will be fast here, but how fast will be determined by the wind, looks like a headwind currently, but we will see what the morning brings. We are close to sea level here, so it is bound to be at least decent. Mid to high 80's today and it is cooling down as the event goes on.
If you are traveling this way, night paving on I495, night bridge work on I290 in Worcester, and if you are headed up Friday there will be lots of weekend beach traffic. so choose your travel time carefully. I saw diesel as low as 369, and paid 375 for it on rt 125 15 miles south of the track at the Irving station I use a sprint network internet connection and it only works at off peak times, their system barely handles regular volume, much less event volume. So hopefully someone else will chime in here and help out with some reporting. Dave |

Parking was S L O W. I got there around 10:30am and finally got parked around 3:30pm. They were still parking and teching cars at 6:00pm The late comers were being sent to the netherland region near the finish line.

It is a blue sky 65 degree picture perfect morning here in Epping,NH, no wind yet. My barometer reads 29.9 which is about .4 better than my best reading last weekend at the Lebanon Valley LODRS
Stock gets 3 time trials today and 1 more tomorrow then rd1 should be fun |

Re: "Live"from the New England Nationals
About half an hour till start , the weather is beautiful !
A slight crosswind @ 5-10 mph ,29.80 actual barometer ,75.5 deg ,58% RH, 80 grains of moisture , vapor pressure .531 and a Density Altitude of 1740 feet We are supposed to have 4 beautiful days like this , so with everyone getting 4 hits on the track , look for some really dialed competitors ! |
Re: "Live"from the New England Nationals
Just finished Q2 for stock, the temp went much higher than expected, 87 first run, 88 2nd run. Most ran alittle slower than expected. Traction was ok for me and most, did see some spin, Both of Bob Letelliers COPO's cars spun bad on the second run. Wind is strong, but mostly cross.
The weather is just outstanding, SS is running Q2 momentarily. The NHRA tech dept has caught some with fake front batteries in stock, caught them in tech and made them change them. |
Re: "Live"from the New England Nationals
I wonder how much that will cost them? Will it be money or time off? I hope it will be just a warning with a smile. It could have been worse, check them after last qualifying run and DQ them for not having legal run!
Dave very good reporting. |
Re: "Live"from the New England Nationals
Only 34 SS? Surprising
