swing out side bar latch
 

In the Alston Catalog a spring loaded swing out latch is listed. Do we have any feedback about that latch? Any other ideas or options?

I had one (spring loaded) in my Super Bee for all the time I had it. My new cars have the simpler version with a pin. Works well. Super Simple. The spring loaded one will pinch you and you will bleed all over the beer.

I agree with Jeff,,, go with the pin setup.

I used the spring loaded and when I got to racing the car I found out my bad arm didn't have enough strength to work it. I usually have to have help from the outside un latch it. Next time out I will have pin.

I agree with most above... I had spring in a car in the past, but put the pin style in my Firebird I have now. I like the pin, easier. Might not look as "trick" but is simple and works.
I would use another pin if I was doing it again.
