roll bar rear struts through the back glass?
The latest Woodfin build is beginning and it will be my first "race truck" The build up is a 2002 Chevy S-10 for super stock GT. Keeping with the tradition, everything will be done in house.
Question, what is done about bringing the rear roll bar struts through the back glass? Must be NHRA legal for super stock. |
Re: roll bar rear struts through the back glass?
In the case of trucks where the braces have to protrude through, NHRA does allow the rear window to be replaced with Lexan. In the past, it had to be glass but somewhere along the line they realized that rule was unworkable.

Re: roll bar rear struts through the back glass?
Jim, thank you.
My plan now is remove factory rear glass, install rear bars as high as possible, install custom Lexan rear glass :) Depending how the fitting comes together I "think" a short straight section in the rear bar to allow a high exit from cab, then turn down to rear frame section. Doing that should allow bar to be at top of new back glass. |

These aren't Stock or Super Stockers, but here are some trucks with bars through the window from today at Pacific Raceway. Mostly Super Pro bracket trucks.
