Regarding COPO's & CJ's need some info please
 

Regarding the Copo & CJ cars are either GM or Ford using any version of the engines in those cars in a regular production vehicle-- not another hybrid race only vehicle but a car that you and I can buy and drive on the street for the next 10 years-- I have not followed what the MFG's are doing in regards to new cars as I am driving a V-6 passenger car 4 door sedan type of vehicle not any type of performance car by any means. It seems to me that Ford has spent a tremendous sum of money(Milions???) on engines to make maybe 50-100 engines for the Mustang CJ per year if this engine is not used in a regular production vehicle --or are they taking an existing engine that is used in say a truck and adding superchargers and other performance goodies to come up with a CJ --same goes for GM??? Chrysler seems to have used the 5.7 HEMI and made variants of this engine for the Drag Paks-- Enlighten me please---thanx FED 387

The base platform engines and long blocks are used in production cars and trucks.
However, some items such as intakes, throttle bodies and some of the cylinder heads are unique.

The 427 LS7 is used in the new Camaro Z/28 and the Z06 Corvette. (Dry-Sump) Also sold as a wet sump crate motor too.

The 396 is a LS3 block that is found in many trucks, SUV's, Camaros and Corvette's.

The 350 is also uses the LS7 block but has a smaller crank.

All the above motors have been run for some time in the hot rod street car world.

90% of whey they are not street legal is due to the removal of Emissions equipment and the crash safety equipment. I.E. On the Camaro's the stock hood is one of the cars crumple zones.

No clue on the Fords or Mopar's...

The COPOs that are Supercharged use the LSX blocks and heads these were never used in production

So a COPO is using hybrid heads sort like using a a Dart/Buick or a SB2 head installed on a Bow tie version of a SBC block , is my assumption correct and calling it STOCK--is that what you are trying to say???

Don't know if Joe's post was titled Optional engines for your COPO or not. This link is Ford Racing's Crate Motor selection. It doesn't say We put this in our Cobra Jet drag cars that ship with parachute mounts. The modular engine is similar to the CJ if not the same. The motor in Karen Comstock's CJ is similar to the blue one. I didn't get under the valve covers...

If you go on the Ford Racing Performance Parts website www.fordracingparts.com, click on Competition, all the CJ Mustang's are listed, 2008, 2010,2012,2013, and 2014.
