GM A Body front springs

My chevelle has the moroso 47160 springs, lightest in the catalog for 68-72. Now that the ride height is where I want it the springs are dead, too much cut off. Does anybody know which spring will have the same dimensions but be another 'step' softer? Possibly a 64-67 spring or maybe first gen camaro?

Chris…I had a 69 Big Block Chevelle and I ended up using some left over 47195's from my Nova Super Stocker. They are @ 1-1 1/2" shorter and have a comparable spring rate, not to mention easier to install. Car sat @ 1 1/2" lower than stock with 29" front tire and 30" rear slick. Hope this helps…Maurice.

I use a 64-67 spring in mine. Can't remember the number off hand but I can look if you want.

64-7 springs have both ends "tangential" meaning the end coil is round and wound tighter to the previous coil. 68-72 springs have the bottom tangential and the top "square" meaning the end coil is flat, not round in cross section. The frame pockets are different to mate to the correct spring.
