I should have done this earlier. Congrats to Dave for the Class win at the National event last weekend and also Best Engineered award. The car looks awesome, runs very well and deserves the awards. Good luck this weekend and at Pomona from a big fan.

I must say, I agree Dave. Congrats, because as are all of your cars, this one is a masterpiece to behold. Best thing is, It puts a smile on your face, as I can see it's fun for you to drive as well. Beautiful car. Congrats to you and your crew. Next year a "killer" motor? :D Terry

I don't think so,, Dale. If you go to Drag Race Central and click on the Best Engineered award from Vegas you're going to see Dave's Marina Blue SS/H '67 Chevy II Nova,,,,, not his "69 Camaro stocker. You better fire your fact checker,, they've failed you. Check it out.

:eek::eek: It would appear that I should have been more specific about which car had won the award. Dave has been racing the 69 Camaro for several years. It, too, is a very good looking car. Before Dave had the '67 Nova S/S car he had a S/C dragster. Not sure if he still has the dragster or not. I haven't had the opportunity to go into deep conversation with him this year.

If you look at the qualifying list from Vegas, Dave is nearly 9 under with the Nova. Pretty good for the 1st year in the car.

Yeah, Ron,,,, it would appear that way. Hey,, no harm, no foul!
Actually before Dave got into the dragster deal,, he was a accomplished Comp Eliminator racer with some cool and fast 10,000+ rpm small block (under 300 c.i.)
screamers with 5-speed gear boxes in various bodies, so this SS/H adventure hes on right now is nothing new, hes an 'ol stick guy. I love watching that car launch and go through the gears,, but I'm a little partial to it since I had a '66 Chevy II SS with a 331 sbc, 4-speed and 5:57s on a 10.5 tire back in the '70s that was a lot of fun also. Wish I still had it!
