Pacific Raceways sold to Boeing??
I hate dealing in rumors,,, so perhaps some sleuths, or investigators with some knowhow can dig deeper into this,, but this morning at breakfast with a few retired police officers and firefighters,, the topic of the annual "Toys For Tots" fun run came up which takes place in December at the facility. At the planning meeting they were told that this would be the last year for the event. When asked why,, they were told that Pacific Raceways had been sold to Boeing! I've looked on Pacifics' website and found nothing. Same thing on Boeing's different sites,, and even snooped around on various King county sites and am coming up dry. So,, if theres any truth to this, its being kept a secret or very low key at best. If anyone can find out more info, please feel free to put it on here for all of us to digest. Good luck.

I doubt that Boeing bought the property.

Re: Pacific Raceways sold to Boeing??
I doubt they bought the property.
On the contrary, Boeing, for the past 15 years they have been selling lots of their property and sending work outside the Puget Sound especially to California, St. Louis and South Carolina. They sold lots of land near the Kent Space Division last year and reduced their footprint. What is called The Landing in Renton, used to be property owned by Boeing that they sold and now it is a shopping mall with apartments and condos. Therefore the reason why I don't see the need for them to purchase the track. |

Well, I didn't find anything either but it looks like Pacific & Machinists Union Local Lodge 751 are rather cozy. This, "Pacific Innovation Center" keeps coming up also. Just for my own reasons I would NOT like to see Boeing own it. ................................. But if that would mean it staying open..................

Re: Pacific Raceways sold to Boeing??
No matter who buys the facility, let's hope it remains a racing facility. I heard on Wednesday that a road racer has bought it, but could be just another rumor. Looks like the silly season has begun. Rumors starting to be exchanged and hopes being enticed.
That's too bad about the Toys for Tots deal going away from there. It brought a bunch of people together for a great reason. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that good things happen to Pacific Raceways. Is there any updates about the future of Bremerton Raceway while we are talking tracks in the area?? Also, just read that the drag strip at Ridge Motorsports Park is no longer in the plans. Hope that is just a bad rumor. |
