1986 Cutlas for Stock

Have a friend with a 86 Cutlas, 307 thinking of building a stocker.
Is it worth building and what class would it run?
Thanks,Ken

If you run it as a 442 you claim the 180hp 307 it fits J/SA-L/SA. Not the best car for the class, but it does work. You could claim the 140hp motor rated the same as the 180hp, but as a supreme it fits I/SA-K/SA or as a brougham it fits J-L. The other option is the 138hp roller motor. That engine fits N/SA-O/SA-P/SA and works well.

One other good option is to put a 84 Front clip on it and build a 305 Chevy engine.

Ken the 305 Chevy is a K/SA-L/SA car. The 138hp roller motor is 86-88

Rich, has something been changed, for the 305 Cutlass ? That looks to be 80lbs light.

Kenny - The new site is usually up to date and more informative...you might compare with the current NHRA site tho.
