IHRA Pure Stock Classification?
While in the middle of my NHRA Stock build, I have another car that I would like to possibly run in IHRA Pure Stock. After reading the rule book, (Pure Stock rules are very vague, lol), I still don't see where to find classification and blueprint info for IHRA. 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 Coupe. Thanks in advance.

Re: IHRA Pure Stock Classification?
If I'm not mistaken the classification follows NHRA's numbers and can be found on their web site. Regarding which class it will fall under then you can look at the IHRA web site to see the rule book. The indexes will also be listed there once you determine the class. The rules are pretty close to traditional Stocker rules except you must either run a full exhaust (or no exhaust but with stock manifolds), cam must remain OEM for lift AND duration, no electric water pump, and a couple other small items.

Re: IHRA Pure Stock Classification?
Thank you, that's pretty much what I read in their rulebook, just wasn't certain how they classified (couldn't find it on the website, but I'll keep looking) and what they used for blueprint specs. Like specifying valve springs rates, etc., since they say they must be the same as from the factory.

Re: IHRA Pure Stock Classification?
Tony,
Email Mike Baker at IHRA And ask him to send you the tech sheets for your combo. Unfortunately, (it should be more available) this is the only way to get the info you need. mbaker@ihra.com Hope This Helps.... |
