Customer Service

So I called IHRA Thursday afternoon to rejoin IHRA, and received my membership packet already (not 6-8 weeks), and it included an actual physical printed rulebook (remember those?), and a receipt for my phone order. Glad to be back!

I have never raced IHRA before but want to learn more about it. If I wanted to race stock, what series is that? Nitro Jam? Pro-am? SuperSeries? Is their a divisional and national series similar to LODRS and Mello Yello? Are their grade points?

Bobby, The Sportsman Series in IHRA is called the Summit Pro Am Series and the events are commonly called a Pro Am. These are virtually the same as the NHRA Divisional races. Go here for a better explanation:

Bobby,

Pittsburgh Pro-Am and MIR (Maryland Int. Raceway) are close tracks to try IHRA Pro-Am and Nitro Jam racing. I have enjoyed IHRA events and continue to race with them.

Plus, in IHRA, you can join or re-new on the spot and race that day/weekend. I did that at Quaker City in 2005. My membership/license had lapsed in April, and I had not raced that year due to work,. I re-newed there in tech on a Friday, and raced that weekend.

Biggest difference between the IHRA Pro Am and LODRS series is that the Pro Am series usually runs two separate events in one weekend -- one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Extremely accommodating & helpful organization that is truly glad that you are there to participate. Our first race last year, we signed up on location and got all the help we needed to find the proper classes, etc.
Passed out bottles of water in the staging lanes when there was down time on the track! Great experience and going to try to do more this year.

They do make joining or renewing quicker and easier, and make you feel very welcome. Wish there were more closer to me. No AHFS either. Div 4 just never had any cars. 4 to 8 SS cars was not real unusual.
