BB Chevy head gasket

What manufacturer sells the thinnest head gasket for a bb chevy 396?

If you can find them anywhere, GM made one around 0.028". I think the one Mr. Gasket makes is thicker. The only other choice is either dead soft copper from some place such as Hussey or SCE, or a Cometic.

Old # used to be 1131 MR G I recall. Bore was 4.37 though.

I think I still have a set of GM ( I think .015 ) Steel gaskets. I will look in the morning and get the part # off of them.

Glenn… I've been using the MR.GASKET 1131G they are .018 -.020 thick and coated. They are 4.370 Bore and economical. Hope this helps. MB.

GM # 14015351----steel shim .022 thickness -----4.250 bore----- STEEL HEADS ONLY------seal with alum spray paint-----re-torque after first heat cycle-- or look for LS-6 OEM gaskets ---also check quench area clearance very important!!!! FED 387

What FED 387 said, the #14015351 are the gaskets I have. Sorry I thought they were for a 396.
