What is the minimum thickness a rear engine plate should be?

I use 0.090 steel and wouldn't go thinner....

Duce,

The two common mid plates are 1/4" aluminum and .090 steel.

"Generally" you see the 1/4" plate in dragsters and tube frame cars. "Generally" you see the .090" steel plate in back half door cars.

I do not recall seeing any other options.

With my super 10 build I have 1/4" aluminum front, 090" steel middle.

I do have 3/16" aluminum mid in my car with 1/4" front. Been running it for years. They are pretty narrow in my roadster though.

Re: Rear motor plate

Just remember to tell your convertor guy how thick your mid plate is so that you have the correct mounting tabs for proper engagement!!!

I am using an Aluminum mid plate on my Comp Super Modified car.
Don't see any issue on using an Aluminum Mid Plate on a back-half car if you don't go too thin in the material.

Don't forget to use a (for, aft) engine limiter.....

Yes that's what I thought. I'm getting movement. Mine is .250 aluminum in front and .090 steel midplate.
