327/275 HP Super Stock GT Combo: What Converter (stall)?

Hi guys,

Working on my Fourth Gen Camaro 327/275HP (299 adjusted HP) Q-jet combo. 1.98 Powerglide. 6.00 rear gear. 100 inch circumference radials.

Looking to run GT/EA-FA-GA

I'm not really looking for a brand recommendation, but I would like to know what converter stall you would like to see for the combo listed above. I know there's a lot more to it than just stall RPM, but I am just curious as to what something like this should call for.

While you're at it, how about a recommended 2-step RPM, shift RPM, and fallback RPM after the shift?

Sorry I don't have much information on the motor. Nothing crazy fast. Hoping to go .60 under in F trim.

Thanks,

JP

J P, a builder tells me the 327 packages are in the 7" converter range and above 7000 stall [if you have the heads and cam to run about 8600 RPM]

Correct, the 7" is the best way to go in the 283-327 S/S combos.
