Which Fuel Is Right?

I have been doing some research on Sunoco fuels but I can't seem to come up with a direct (or close) replacement for VP C11. Anybody got some ideas on this? Jim

Sunoco purple (110) or Sunoco blue (112).

Any difference ? Other than price. Does one seem to check more than the other? I'm guessing they run about the same ... But is one preferred over the other?I thought 11 was sticky and stained everything but was a couple hundredths faster in our car so we ran it... Enlighten me Bryan ! ...

C11 was a tad faster than C12 in my car, after I found the tuning it liked. Alan Patterson told me Sunoco Premium Blue was the equivelnt. I have. It had a chance to A B A test that. Just tested and tried to race it in bracket mode, so have no idea how it actually compares. Fuel checks went fine, but C11 did too. Local VP guy had problems at work and had to move his fuel to the track here. And the Ennis track owners would not allow out Div 4 fuel dealer to sell fuel at the points race. Sucks being forced to change fuels. Hope Sunoco loses money over this deal with NHRA.

I switched from C11 to 110 in my 396 COPO. I had a lot of issues with the C11 and fuel check. Had to plug my vents every night and change the fuel for new at every race. I have had no such problems with the 110. And its way cheaper. The performance is equal.

I have run C11 for over 4 years now and never had a fuel check issue, even when I left it in the cell for several months. It is kind of "sticky" and does stain yellow but has always given better numbers on the dyno when compared to C12. Remember mine is a very low compression motor and there for is pretty picky. I would be perfectly satisfied to continue to run C11 even with the greater cost but both sanctioning bodies have made it much more difficult to get! Jim

I saw the same thing. Had C11 in the fuel cel and some in a jug, sit all winter, still passed. Never an issue there. Harder for me to get VP now. Not thrilled about it. Wish NHRA had Sunoco stuck where the sun doesn't shine.

Jim, call Rodger at Murrays. He gets me VP whenever I need it. If he doesn't have it in Stock he usually gets it with in a couple days. - JB -

VP is still paying contingency and is still available almost every where (even C25) - just takes a little fore thought and planning before pulling out of the driveway at home.

I refuse to be forced to switch.

Ron
