I have 1 head new. It is out of box but has never been touched. I would like to give it a new home.

Re: cast iron bowtie
What pistons can i run with the vortex heads----i have Mahle dome pistons with my rotating assembly. Is it wise to machine them to fit?
|
Re: cast iron bowtie
Firebird, an experienced machinist will have a fixture to measure the piston dome/top thickness. If you can machine to the needed dimension and have enough thickness remaining it will be fine to do so.
I "think" it has been said the Vortec is best with very small or no dome. I do not know the min thickness needed but figger someone will help with that. |
Re: cast iron bowtie
