D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
Hey everyone, Ive been reading the forum for awhile, and considering testing the waters in D/SA. With that said, ive called almost every converter company ( Ati, Ucc, FTI, Circle D) for a stall recommendation. The trans is a TH350 w/ 2.75 gearset. Ive been told anything from 5000-6500.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Matthew. |
Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
I would just call ATI, and take whatever they tell you. They know what the fastest guys are using.

Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
ATI, it's what I use and what I sell. For over 30 years.
That said, there are some good small companies, who build good products, and support them. |
Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
Matthew,
the characteristics of a converter are the key to best performance. "what stall do you recommend" is only part of the equation. Especially with a footbrake [stocker] leave how the converter allows the engine to easily flash up from low RPM is a key piece of the package. Also key to good reaction times. As stated above, select a company that has years of experience building converters for stockers. Then give them all the requested information and enjoy the results. |

Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
I wasted a lot of money on "custom" trick of the week converters, all slowed me down. Keep plugging that first ATI back in.

Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
My C'S A lt- 1 ran best with a converter that stalled 5650 on my racepack,it was built by Ultimate converters

Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
Thanks for the replies. I had the best input from ATI when I talked to Charlie. I just wanted to pick the brains of everyone here to see some real world results before I bought their product. Once I get it in the car, and make some test runs, I'll have to post the results.
Thanks again, Matthew. |
Re: D/SA LT1 converter recommendations
Stall is a term loosely throw around. If you talked to Charlie at ATI I'd give him every spec about the car as it is right now and let them build what they recommend and you should be satisfied. There's others out there and they can do a good job too like UCC.
