autolite ar33 plugs
I purchased some discounted ar33 plugs on rockauto and looking at them I can see a very faint line on the porcelain. I am not sure if this is a crack. I have never seen this on any before. has anyone else seen this? thanks ron

Re: autolite ar33 plugs
I have been buying my Autolite 985 plugs from RockAuto for years - factory 4 packs - and can't remember a bad one. Autolite mfg is the same - no matter where you buy it.

Re: autolite ar33 plugs
Just looked at the 4 packs and they do say made in Mexico. Also a copyright date of 2013 probably means this started a couple of years ago.
Again; no problems with the plugs that I am sing. |
Re: autolite ar33 plugs
Spent first 2 weekends of the year chasing an engine problem, put 2 sets of autolites thru it, finally put a set of NGKs' in it problem gone. After the fact started hearing of lot's of issues with autolite plugs.

Re: autolite ar33 plugs
Autolite has been made in Mexico since 2007 so that's not the problem. Some AR3932 that were made in 2014 where having misfires, that problem has been corrected. Still the best race plug for the money. Let me know if you know any Nascar teams that are using NGK's.

Re: autolite ar33 plugs
Quickford1, was using AR473s ohm tested each one before installing, after putting 2 sets in and engine still would not run correctly I punted and changed the brand. Bottom line was new plugs fixed the problem the brand was most likely irrelevent. I've ran auto lites for many years and have good results, however after that episode it will be a while before I try them again. Not an NGK fan but that was the easiest plug to get as my application uses an odd plug configuration.

Re: autolite ar33 plugs
Luckily I have had no issues with them yet, I have used Autolite plugs in everything for over 40 years. I hate to hear about problem with them. I had so many cars come across my dyno with NGK plugs that had to be replaced to cure a misfire so I could tune them, I had kind of branded them as crap in my mind. Now I find fast guys using them. LOL
