Pan Evacuation System
Must admit I have no idea if evacuation systems really help. I'm working on a flathead Land Speed motor and wonder if it would help the little guy out. Any pros and cons would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Pan Evacuation System
Is a vacuum pump allowed or just a closed system using engine vacuum and a check valve ?
Vacuum pumps are well documented to increase Hp even without low tension rings . I know of a few Stockers with ring packages that slow drastically without the PCV pulling a vacuum in the pan . |
Re: Pan Evacuation System
Thanks Tom. Good point. I was told by SCTA tech that pan evacuation was legal. I can contact them to be sure that we are talking about the same thing, ie, pumps.

Re: Pan Evacuation System
Just be careful that the engine is sealed. Things like main seals, dipstick tube etc. Nice thing is they tend to leak a lot less. Us pcv system for low rpm and header evacuation system for high speed.
