Q-jet help
Okay, I'm at my wits end. My dad sent out his q-jet to be "restored" for his '71 442 Olds Conv 455/340 hp with auto, came back looks great, beautiful restoration however, runs like total crap.
First off, idle was all screwed up, wouldn't idle etc..got that cleared up, now idles great and good through mid throttle. When we open the secondaries, it stumbles and won't any RPM and falls on its' nose. Im concerned this guy mis-matched parts. It ran fine before, just went a little overboard with detailing. It seems like it is not pulling fuel through the secondary circuit. If this were a T-quad I'd be fine however, GM, I'm lost. He's ready to heave it - looking for ideas or, somebody to send to this who can help straightened it out. He was promissed (after $500) this would be perfect and run great - the guy is now out of business. Eric voigt2106@sbcglobal.net |
