Question for the stick guys
 

What's your opinion on bellhousings.... I remember reading a thread that mentioned one was more friendly for making adjustments.

I have the QuickTime with the window, which makes adjustments a piece of cake. The drawback of the QT is that it's not very deep, making it a challenge to strike a balance between having enough air gap and enough clearance between the fingers and the TO bearing. I've heard Browell makes a really nice unit, but haven't seen one so can't say if they're worth the coin.

I have run both bellhousings since I converted mine to a stick several years ago and did find the Browell to be the best. I found that the QT I always needed the most offset block dowels to center it. The Browell was dead on. Plus Brian will do anything to the housing (as long as it stays within safety rules) to help make clutch adjustments easiest as he is the one to certify it. Never a problem with bearing clearance and he'll put any style of clutch fork you want to use.

Had to do a lot of work on my Quicktime to make the clutch fork work not a lot of room. Brian makes a great piece and is very willing to work with you. Wants to me to change out my Quicktime just have not done it yet.

My only issue with Browell is having to take out the second mortgage on my house to buy one... I'll stick with Quicktime. Either one is a huge improvement over Lakewood both from a quality and weight standpoint.

This was not my experience. The cost of my Browell was very competitive with the Quicktime. The main difference being shipping because you cannot order the Browell from Summit and get free shipping. I would call Brain and ask for a quote.

The Browell is an awesome piece and Brian is very helpful.

A friend with a max wedge car has the Quicktime. Getting the fork right was a lot of work and the welds broke between the trans mount face and housing. For my new car it will be a Browell.

Browell hands down. You can get the window clocked where you want it, and it was dead on with alignment.

It was inline with QT's similar bellhousing in price, but was custom to where I wanted the window clocked. It has been money well spent, and clutch adjustments are very easy.

The best advice is regardless what brand you get, buy one with a window.

I have had both. They were both very nice and way lighter than the older Lakewood designs. The bro well was a lot more than the QT, but I did add the billet fork option and that was worth doing! The bro well has a little more room, and that is helpful. I think we are talking stockers here.
If you have a superstock car or a car that can legally run the deeper alum bell, browell and Boninfante both have super nice aluminum bells with windows. The Boninfante is a bit lighter. I think around 2500 for each by the time you get a fork
