383 Carburetors???
Is an edelbrock carb acceptable as replacement for afb on 66-67 383 single carb applications? Thanks

Re: 383 Carburetors???
The replacement list that NHRA accepts the Edelbrock carb for does not include the carbs listed for those engines.
Look on p. 130 in the Accepted Products document found here: http://www.nhraracer.com/content/gen...545&zoneid=132 |

Is the '68 - '69 AVS a better combination choice than a '67 AFB?

Re: 383 Carburetors???
Chuck Beach's post in the Horsepower thread answered my question by reminding me about Corey Hopkins' Indy performance with his '69 383 Dart.

Re: 383 Carburetors???
When we built a 383 for our 66 Plymouth the Edelbrock was not legal. If you compare it to the original 525 AFB you can see why. We found an original and sent it to Dean Oliver and he did a magnificent job.

Re: 383 Carburetors???
Thanks for all input. AVS is not allowed on a 66 car, we have a few of those here. Have a contact now for an oe core.
