DTS Dyno Owners, Question?
I purchased a used DTS dyno. It did not come with the starter motor. Superflow (who purchased DTS) sells the starter, but its pretty pricey.
Suspect its just a standard starter for some sort of application (I can tell you I dont recognize it however...). Anyone who owns a DTS dyno, can you take a look at the starter and let me know if you can find any numbers, or info on it ?? Thanks in Advance! Kevin |

Update: Upon additional internet research, after wading through bad search hits, ads for Russian mistresses and hair loss cures (have to admit, I caught myself reading that one for a few seconds...) I think its a Ford application, manual transmission with the a recessed 9 tooth gear, 4.08" OD of the boss. The two mounting holes are NOT on the centerline of the boss. They are above it (away from the flywheel) See picture of one below. Any Ford guys recognize it??

Re: DTS Dyno Owners, Question?
Kevin,
For a SBF mini starter, the flange diameter is 4.180" (the lip on the starter). The bolt holes center to center are approximately 5.275" apart. The bottom bolt is located at the center line of the flange housing, whereas the top bolt is offset by approximately 1.400" to the center line. Hope this helps. Steve |
Re: DTS Dyno Owners, Question?
Yes it sure does help, That's not it. Flange dia on this is definitely 4.08". Which appears to be BB ford 351M, 400,429,460. I'm nearly certain at this point...
Thanks Steve!! |
