Race car Insurance

My dear wife told our insurance company I drag race the Pure Stocker.
Now I need another insurance company.
We have Hartford for now.

Need recommendations.

Thanks just spoke with him.
Patient and learned a lot.
Have to pull the Registration and Tags off to get his style of Insurance.

Otherwise need a new Insurance company and make sure wife does not talk to them.

I use Chris from Triple C Agency for my car and my dad's. Insurance is through American Modern. Rates are incredibly good. Covers transport, garaged and sitting in pits but not in staging lanes or going down track.

His website is http://triplecagency.com/. He is a super nice guy and very easy to deal with in my opinion.

I use Bill for my racecars, strongly recommend if you go that route.

Whats the issue with the existing company? You drive the car to the track and need coverage for that, coverage ends at the gate, drive home.

Its just like when you go to street night, drive in, play without coverage, drive home.

Exactly Eric,
If it's street driven to the track, change insurance companies if they are going to pull that BS!

Dan,
Do you drive the car on the street? Otherwise you are going to get all kinds of answers.

Re: Race car Insurance

I ran into this issue. Because my car is street driven to and from the track my regular insurance company wouldn't touch it. I called around and was above board on how I use it and got the same reply that they don't insure race cars. They don't understand that any car is a race car. I wound up insuring it on-line and not checking certain boxes. I got minimum property damage and public liability.

Forgive me if I don't mention the company.

YES, the car is driven on the street.
Use to be a daily driver. Now to a garage, a car wash, bit of exercise.
Drove to all the tracks to race for years.
Mid last year been trailering.

All was good until my Wife told the Insurance Company the Impala is drag raced.

Another lesson learned
At least got to meet with Bill Horton. Nice guy..!

Re: Race car Insurance

Dan,

Then its a street car. How streetable it is, doesn't matter if it meets DMV requirements. I would suggest shopping for all of your insurance needs. If you are like most of us, your home and any other property is under one insurance company. The insurance person might reconsider your street car, that is occasionally drag raced if you let them know you are shopping. That's if you are willing to give them another chance.

Its unfortunate that being honest is taken out of context as to what the car is used for.

Good luck.

Sean
