I spoke with my father, Jerry Stinner, and he said Frank Iaconio might also show up if he's not too busy building engines for Mike Edwards. BTW, there's an article about Frank over at Competition Plus

I would like to be at this event... Out in York, that was a great racetrack in the old days and many people I kew from the old days....Ralph, Bernie, Ray and others that have special memories to me......like Linda Vaughn who shared the winners circle with me when I won the SummerNationals. I just saw her on TV at Daytona for the Pepsi 400......She's a great lady and I love seeing her. She has a smile for everyone and I still remember our special winners picture session! She even helped me win the event...sort of!

Rich, were you the 1970 Summernationals Stock Elim. winner?

Re: York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals

No....the 1970 SummerNationals was the very first and it was held at York. Dave Boertman won if I remember right. My partner and I had an H/S '68 Chevy II. We did not make the field. We made poor runs in the heat of the summer compared to earlier that spring. Wrong flywheel, wrong trans.first gear...... Many racers today have no idea what it was like to run on asphalt....no concrete starting lines and 7" slicks in the hot summer......Let the clutch out and "dig a hole"...........We needed an aluminum flywheel and maybe less first gear or less rear gear.....The right lane had an abnormal number or redlites in the first round of some categories....SuperStock mainly, and drivers were waiting to be sure and stay green....they lost...Ray Allen was one in the Chevelle when he could easily have won that race......well that's how I remember it anyway!
