TH350 roller tailshaft ET gain?
 

Has anyone done any back to back testing that quantifies an ET improvement from using a rollerized tailshaft on a TH350 vs a regular one? I'm wondering if the investment in the tailshaft and a nitrided slip yoke is worth it. Thanks.

Not trying to start a fight or insult anyone. I am going to explain a experience I had with a roller bearing extension housing. We had a customer who had a vibration that he chased and spent many dollars trying to cure. We freshened his transmission and found that when We installed the slip yoke it was harder to rotate. We replaced the housing with a traditional bushing and cured his vibration issue. I am believing that through their process it became eccentric. Always remember that a properly lubed bushing has no friction. In my opinion radial load bearings have no effect on ET, axial load bearings certainly improve. Louis Jeffery.

I've purchased two from TCI, both have been fine for at least 5 years or so. I didn't do back-to-back testing, but common sense tells me there's a little bit there. If you're a class racer looking for every hundredth you can get, go for it. It does require a hardened slip yoke.
